A large helicopter model debuted in Hutubi County, Xinjiang on Nov. 9. Its three creators climbed on top of the model and waved the national flag to celebrate their success.

According to Xu Gaopeng, one of the builders of the model, the helicopter is about 16 meters long and 5 meters high. It took several months and over 200,000 RMB to build. They had to search through more than 40 tons of iron waste to find the suitable parts.

The "three iron brothers" now enjoy a certain degree of fame online. Their environmental protection concept of "turning waste into treasure" has been applauded by many people. Most of their artwork also features Xinjiang elements.

Chen Haijun, the technical specialist on the team, moved from Hunan province to his current home in Hutubi County. His passion for the conversion of trash to treasure is what led him to Xinjiang.

"We have a common dream, which is to turn waste into artwork with our hands. The helicopter is the largest piece of art we have finished. It was also the most difficult one," Chen said.

"The idea of designing a helicopter model was inspired by a military parade on TV. To make the model, we read a lot of information online," added Du Dawei, an apprentice of Chen.

Since the "three iron brothers" have become famous, their company has received more orders than ever before. The three men have great confidence in their future. They are determined to keep up with new orders while still devoting time to more pieces of art with Xinjiang elements.
