China hopes to increase the average life expectancy of its citizens to 79 by 2030, up from the current 76.34, according to a new national health plan released by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.
The "Healthy China 2030" blueprint focuses on optimizing universal healthcare, promoting healthy lifestyles, building a healthy environment and developing China's health industries. The main health indices of the country are expected to reach the level of developed countries by 2030.
In addition, the blueprint also sets forth a detailed plan for achievements such as a 30 percent decrease in premature mortality from major chronic diseases.
