A surprising photo has recently gone viral online. In the photo, a teacher is giving a lecture in a classroom while holding an umbrella. Taken at Shuozhou No. 1 Middle School in nothren China's Shanxi province, the photo reveals the poor condition of the school's classrooms.

According to students and teachers at the school, the classroom ceiling was leaking on Oct. 6 after a rainstorm the previous day. The students moved their desks to avoid the dripping. However, the teacher, Zheng Zhaoliang, had to make do with an umbrella.

The students said that the leaking was serious - that water was flowing rather than dripping from the ceiling, thereby disturbing their studies. Wang Sen, the leader of the school, told Youth.cn that many classrooms and offices in the school leak when it rains.
