China's Shenzhou-11 manned spacecraft was successfully launched from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Oct. 17. Clips of conversations between the two astronauts, Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong, have been released to the public, which many take as a testament to China’s safe technology.

Jing and Chen are both members of the People's Liberation Army Air Force. Jing is the first Chinese astronaut to have flown on three missions (Shenzhou-7, Shenzhou-9 and Shenzhou-11), while this is Chen's first time in space.

Many people witnessed the exciting launch. Though lots of viewers were quite nervous, the astronauts themselves were in a good mood, even chatting with each other in the run-up to the launch.

Clips of their conversation were released to the public on Oct. 17. The clips feature the two men sharing their excitement when they first glimpse outer space, and reporting that they are “feeling good.”

With China growing stronger each day, the country's space program is also developing quickly. Chinese people felt proud, excited and thrilled about this special milestone. One netizen, after reading a transcript of the astronauts' conversation, commented that their positive feelings must mean the Shenzhou-11 spacecraft is not only safe, but also comfortable to work in. 

Others commented that the astronauts may even have been more relaxed than regular citizens on the ground, as they were well trained and calm, thanks to their thorough preparation.
