The application period for China’s civil service positions began on Oct. 16. The most coveted job was at a security office in Liaoning province, attracting over 50 applicants for the single position. What's more, data shows that the number of people who applied for the civil service qualifying examination reached over 13,000 in just nine hours.
Statistics from Offcn, an online education group, showed that departments under the national tax system offered 9,455 positions, accounting for 64.58 percent of the total jobs on offer. The 10 departments with the largest recruiting demand and the top 10 most pursued departments are all related to the national tax system.
