A video went viral online showing a group of tourists visiting the Da Jian Shan scenic area in south China’s Guangdong province. The group was driving a Range Rover up the stone staircases, causing damage to the public area.
The video started with men, who appeared to be friends of the Range Rover driver, betting beers and challenging the driver to drive the SUV upstairs on to the mountain. The Range Rover was then seen roaring up the staircase. Pebbles can be seen falling off the staircase as the vehicle continued climbing. It stopped in the middle of the staircases and later was seen rolling down, causing another round of damage to the staircase.
The video triggered anger and widespread criticism towards the vandalism after it went viral.
