Norjmaa, a Chinese film on a Mongolian goat herder saving two injured soldiers during World War II was showcased at the Bioscope Independent Cinema in Maboneng, Johannesburg on Thursday.
The film has been presented in a few international film festivals. It also won the Best Low-Budget Film at the 30th Golden Rooster Awards (2015). Badema, who played the leading role Norjmaa in the film won the Best Actress Award.
Badema, together with Batumengke, the producer of the film interacted with local audience during a Q&A section after the showcase.
The Bioscope regularly holds Noodlebox Cinema, where audience can enjoy a portion of noodles inside the cinema while watching Kung Fu action movies on the big screen. Russel Grant, the co-owner of the Bioscope says that he is willing to introduce more types of Chinese films other than action movies to the cinema.
