A Chinese man named Li Lin traveled with his wife and daughter to 10 provinces and one municipality in China over the course of three years by driving a customized trailer.
Li and his family started their journey in 2012. Although life on the road was not as stable or predictable as living in a city, they enjoyed seeing different scenes and having new experiences every day.
Their trip covered Guangdong, Hunan, Guizhou, Fujian, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Shanghai.
According to Li, the trip made his daughter more cheerful and optimistic by providing her with opportunities to interact with the world around her.
Li spent 100,000 yuan ($15,250) to customize his trailer. Through running a chain store, Li was able to cover all the costs for the trip.
In 2015, the trip came to an end since Li’s daughter had to attend school. But now Li has started another project. He has bought several old buses and plans to transform them into living spaces.
