In Anrong's laptop, there are numerous folders with the names of a variety of destinations. Photos of four "girls" traveling around the world fill each of the folders - they are Anrong, her sister, their 87-year-old mother and her sister's daughter Yangyang.

Anrong told journalists that when her mother began to suffer from depression, their first idea was to try to cheer her up by traveling. After visiting more than 10 countries and wearing out 5 wheelchairs, her mother's health is now improving.

In 2009, Anrong's mother was hit by a jeep while she was riding her tricycle. After this incident she began to experience depression and became forgetful. In addition to the depression, a CT showed that Anrong's mother is also suffering from brain shrinkage, requiring her to start using a wheel chair.

Their first trip was to Hainan. It was also the first time Anrong's mother had traveled by plane. Since her mother had always considered traveling to be a waste of money, Anrong talked her into it by pretending that the trip was a free gift from a friend. This domestic trip showed Anrong that her mother was becoming more open to the idea, and more importantly that she was becoming happier and healthier. The four "girls" then moved on to international travel.
