1st Hainan Volcano Cycling Cultural Festival Opens in Haikou

The very first Hainan Volcano Cycling Cultural Festival grandly open Saturday in Shishan Greenways in Shishan town, Haikou, provincial capital of south China's Hainan.

Lasting from January 16 to 17, the festival boasts the largest-scale cycling event in the history of Hainan island. Over 2000 cycling-lovers from all over the world gathered in Shishan town, where there is the world’s only one volcano-themed cycling path.

In addition to the cycling, there will be plenty of other activities. The Laba Festival, a traditional Chinese festival held on the eighth day of the 12th lunar month, will be celebrated at the Volcano Park.

The Volcano Cycling Festival will also feature a professional cycling competition, a biking show, a bike parade, a children's biking competition, and a cycling history and culture expo.
