The Beijing Municipal Environmental Monitoring Center forecasted the capital city will see moderate to severe levels of PM 2.5 pollution after the firework celebrations on Lantern Festival (March 5), the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Experts at the center said unfavorable wind patterns would also add to the pollution, and the air quality would not improve until March 8 when there is expected to be winds from the north to diffuse the pollutants.
