Ekhuruleni, July 30th (People’s Daily Online) - You might have seen much Chinese Kung-Fu in films presented by Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan, but have you ever expected it could be displayed by South African police officers? With the training course of Chinese Kung-Fu for Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) starting today, this might turns into reality.
The 3-month program, which is the very first Kung-Fu training between Chinese police and SA police, will help latter ones obtain basic martial skills. As Mr. Wang Zhigang, the Police Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa revealed, 7 EMPD officers would be invited to China national police university in September for 3-week criminal investigation training.
“We expect new skills to use when our officers are out there trying to apprehend criminals,” said Ms. Ugeshni Naidoo, Deputy Chief of EMPD, “For us it’s also a beginning of the partnership with Chinese police.”
