A blaze that raged for nearly 10 hours destroyed most of Dukezong town in Shangri-la, Yunnan province last year. Dukezong, which literally means “Moonlight city” in Tibetan language, has a history of 1,300-years. It was once an important landmark on the South Silk Road, known for its Tibetan culture. With the orderly reconstruction work being carried out, the "Moonlight City" is regaining its vitality on the ruins. Residents and businesses have struggled to recover from the disaster.
