China Stresses Importance of Anti-Crime Cooperation with Austria

State Councilor Luo Gan Tuesday told visiting Austrian Interior Minister Ernst Strasser that China attaches great importance to the cooperation between the two countries' police forces in cracking down on crime.

The exchanges and cooperation between China's public security departments with Austrian interior organs are an important component of bilateral ties, Luo said.

He spoke highly of an agreement of cooperation signed today by Strasser and his Chinese counterpart Jia Chunwang, minister of public security, noting that it will further enhance the joint anti-crime efforts of the two countries..

Luo also said that since the diplomatic ties were established between the two country 30 years ago, Sino-Austrian relations have been developing smoothly, and have been quite fruitful in terms of economic, trade and technological ties.
