China Appoints New Ambassadors

Chinese President Jiang Zemin appointed and replaced a number of China's ambassadors to some countries Tuesday in accordance with a decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top law-making body.

Yang Honglin was appointed China's ambassador to the State of Bahrain, replacing Pan Xiangkang.

Wang Sifa was appointed China's ambassador to the Republic of Central Africa, replacing Cui Yongqian.

Wang Zhiquan was appointed China's ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, replacing Wang Chengjia.

Wu Changsheng was appointed China's ambassador to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, replacing Ma Shuxue.
