"Shanghai Five" Foreign Ministers' Meeting to Open in Moscow

The foreign ministers' meeting of the "Shanghai Five" is to be held in Moscow on April 28.

This was announced by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue at a regular press conference here Thursday.

She said Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan will attend this meeting which is aimed at making preparations for the "Shanghai Five" summit meeting scheduled for June 15 in Shanghai.

During the summit meeting in June, leaders of concerned countries are expected to exchange extensive views on strengthening their cooperation in various fields, the future development of the "Shanghai Five", and on other major international and regional issues of their concern.

The "Shanghai Five" countries are China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
