4th Beijing Int'l Hi-tech Week Expected

The 4th China Beijing Int'l High-tech Industries Week will be opened in Beijing on May 10. So far, 68 governmental and business delegations from over 50 countries have registered with the Organization Committee.

To join in the gala will be many world leading political figures, governmental officials, world known scientists, financiers, transnationals' delegations, and foreign emissaries to China. Among the various delegations to join in the event will also be included those from over 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and cities in China.

Sources say 8 exhibitions will be staged, over an area totaling 100,000 square meters. Apart from hi-tech shows and about 80 forums called in six major disciplines, 17 trade talks on science and technology and over 20 large-scale exchange activities, science/technology tourism, Zhongguancun Computer Festival, and "Zhongguancun 2001" Commercial Undertaking Planning Competition will be held.
