China's Silicon Valley to Hold Hi-Tech Fair

The Zhongguancun Hi-tech Zone, in the Chinese capital, is to display its high-tech findings during the upcoming Fourth Beijing International Hi-tech Industries Week, in May.

This was announced Tuesday by officials of the Zhongguancun Hi- tech Zone, dubbed China's silicon valley due to the booming hi- tech enterprises within the region.

Zhongguancun, an acknowledged leader in China's hi-tech industries, expects to attract more foreign investments and cooperation during the trade fair.

The total revenue of Zhongguancun in 2000 amounted to some 18.6 billion US dollars, up 46.8 percent over the previous year and ranking first among China's 53 hi-tech zones.
