Beijing to Hold 4th Zhongguancun Computer Festival

The 4th Zhongguancun Computer Festival, a major part of the upcoming 4th Beijing International Hi-tech Industries Week, is to be held at the Beijing Exhibition Hall on May 8, 2001.

Centering on the theme of internationalization and informationalization, altogether 17 falling into 5 categories of activities including a series of conferences, trade fair of network era and digital life, IT findings show, International Computer Music and digital square will be held during the festival. Of these, most outstanding and largely favored in the information era is International Computer Music (ICM) to be first staged during the computer festival. According to the Organization Committee, ICM is hoped to be a world well-known scientific art festival in the future.

As is told by organizers, the computer festival will offer an opportunity for Zhongguancun Hi-tech Park to go to the world arena. The Management Committee of Zhongguancun Hi-tech Park expressed the hope that Zhongguancun computer festival will become world third IT industry center after Las Vegas Computer Expo in the US and Hannover Fair in Germany.
