Cross-Straits Cooperation in Online Entertainment

Netease, one of China's big portals has, by introducing KURO software, entered into partnership with Iwmusic, a famous professional music website in Taiwan to build, an online entertainment platform across the Taiwan Straits and Hong Kong.

KURO is a kind of browser through which users can download music pieces, play online games and enjoy entertainment services. Through the cooperation with Iwmusic, Netease will be able to provide a data bank of music products as well as over ten thousand popular songs with copyright.

The service would be free in the first three months, then small charges will follow.

Netease's CEO says it is an attempt of cooperation between portal and professional websites to broaden business channels and find new ways to gain benefits.

While Iwmusic's CEO James says he is attracted by Netease's large group of 15m users, hoping that the swarm of people could be turned into a lump of money.
