Xinhua Airlines Plane Lands Safely after Hijacking Foiled

Hijacking of a plane of Boeing 737 was foiled Wednesday morning, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The plane of the Xinhua Airlines took off at 7:20 am Wednesday from Baotou, the second largest city of the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia, and flew to Beijing as its original destination.

During the flight, a hijacker attempted to hijack the plane and was immediately subdued by the crew.

The plane landed at Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong Province, at 9:36 am today safely, and the 143 passengers aboard the plane are all safe and sound.
