China to Reform Prosecution System

China will introduce a series of reforms in its prosecution system this year to ensure justice and the independent rights of prosecutors.

Since early this year, chief prosecutors have been made responsible for individual cases. So far, the practice has been adopted by 2,195 procuratorates across the country.

According to today's "People's Daily", the reforms will include the public demonstration of evidences prior to the court hearing.

In addition, new prosecuting document forms will be introduced into procuratorates within the year.
