China's Xiamen Customs Confiscate Heroin

A man from Taiwan carrying 734 grams of heroin was arrested by customs officers in this port city in east China's Fujian Province on April 2. This is the largest amount of drugs that the Xiamen customs have seized in the past few years.

The man, surnamed Chen, was stopped by customs officers just before boarding Flight NX131 to Taiwan via Macao, and the drugs were found on his person.

Chen told police that he had been promised 200,000 Taiwan dollars by another man from Taiwan to smuggle the drugs into the island province.
