Top Leaders Visit Exhibitions

Top Chinese leaders Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao and Li Lanqing visited an exhibition on respecting science and fighting against superstition in Beijing Sunday night.

The exhibition features photos, videos, and models that expose the true face of Falun Gong and other cults which use pseudoscience and superstition to cheat the people. President Jiang Zemin said that the exhibition was well organized and would help people understand the danger of the Falun Gong cult. He also pointed out that it would help improve people's ethical level and scientific awareness.

Some 100,000 people have visited the exhibition which is being held at the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Museum. Jiang and other Chinese leaders also visited an exhibition on China's latest patented technologies sponsored by the State Intellectual Property Office at the same museum.

Jiang called on the nation to support patent work and bring the patent system into full play, and urged people to produce marketable high-technologies with the intellectual property rights of their own in an effort to boost the economy.

Central and local patent administrations from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and eight ministries and corporations have sent representatives to the five-day exhibition.
