South Korean president to visit China in June

SEOUL, May 27 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Park Geun- hye will visit China at the end of June in what would be her second overseas trip since taking office in February, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se said Monday.

South Korea and China have made rapid development and reached great achievements across all sectors since the two forged diplomatic relations in 1992, and the state visit will be aimed at discussions on the development direction of bilateral ties in the next 5 years, according to Yun.

The two heads of state have established a close relationship through exchanging envoys and other multiple channels since Park took office. The two countries will discuss to further deepen cooperation in multiple fields, Yun added.

He also said the two leaders will discuss to make joint efforts to safeguard peace and stability in the Korea penisular and promote common prosperity.

The Vice-Ministerial Strategic Dialogue between China and South Korea will be held on June 3 and June 4 in Beijing, he added.
