KUNMING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- More than 200 snipers from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) concluded a 40-day training assembly on Wednesday.
The training ended with a multi-subject shooting and sniping drill in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, on Wednesday morning.
According to military sources, the snipers were from the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Second Artillery Force of the PLA, including more than 20 who had taken part in shooting contests abroad.
They were trained in sniping tactics for urban, mountainous and jungle conditions.
Among the instructors were four foreign military officers.
In July last year, a team of five snipers from the PLA won first place in an international sniping competition held in Kazakhstan. They beat 16 other teams from seven countries, including the United States and Russia.
