Chinese Olympic champ seeks victory in fencing GP

HAVANA, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese fencer Sun Yujie, 2012 London Olympic champion, said on Thursday that she is seeking a title in a Grand Prix event to be held in Havana on May 23-27.

The world top-ranked Sun, who also won an individual bronze medal in London, will have to face tough rivals such as Romania's Ana Maria Branza, ranked third in the world, Italy's Rossella Flamingo, the fifth, and South Korea's Shin A Lam, ranked sixth and a team silver medalist in London.

The Grand Prix is expected to draw over 100 fencers.
