Chinese president Xi Jinping’s state visit to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Mexico starting from May 31 and his meeting with U.S. president Barrack Obama on June 7-8 have drawn global attention.

To promote the healthy and stable China-U.S. relations on a long-term basis, the two sides need to proceed from a strategic height and long-term perspective of bilateral relations. On March 14, Chinese president Xi Jinping talked with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama by phone. They reiterated that they will be committed to building the partnership between them and exploring the construction of new relations among major powers.
