Senior CPC official meets Laotian guests

BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Zhao Leji, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Friday met with a Laotian delegation.

The group, led by Deputy Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sithong Thongkeo, is in Beijing for a week-long study.

Zhao, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee,reviewed the smooth growth of China-Laos relations, citing frequent visits, more experience sharing and new progress in various sectors.

Zhao, also head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, said the CPC and the Chinese government have taken a strategic view of China-Laos relations.

He vowed that the new CPC leadership will work with the Laotian side to develop a China-Laos all-round strategic partnership of cooperation, bring more benefits to the two countries and peoples and contribute to regional and world peace and development.

Sithong Thongkeo said the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Laotian government placed great importance on developing ties with China, calling for more frequent exchanges and deeper pragmatic cooperation.
