HONG KONG, May 9 (Xinhua) -- About 288,000 eligible Hong Kong seniors have received the Old Age Living Allowance so far, the Hong Kong Social Welfare Department said Thursday.

The department has received 89,000 applications under the second phase of the allowance scheme, and 12,000 of the applicants have already received the subsidy.
