HARBIN/CHANGCHUN, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Power supplies were mostly restored to snowstorm-hit areas in northeast China as the storm continued on Tuesday, according to local power companies.

By 5 p.m. on Tuesday, electricity had resumed for 420,000 affected households in 126 townships in Heilongjiang Province after power outages caused by the extreme weather, said the provincial power company.

More than 1,000 electricity workers were mobilized to repair damaged transformer substations and grid lines, it added.

In neighboring Jilin Province, 23 grid lines had resumed power supply, said the provincial power company.

The stormy weather began on Friday and hit Heilongjiang, Jilin, Inner Mongolia and Liaoning. It is expected to end on Wednesday.
