BEIJING, December 3 (ChinaMil) --Fan Changlong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the CPC, met with Hassan Darar Houffaneh, the visiting minister of defense of Djibouti, and his party on the afternoon of December 2, 2013 in Beijing.
Fan Changlong said that although China and Djibouti are far apart, the two sides have been closely linked with each other by similar historical experiences and common tasks facing the two countries. The Chinese side is grateful to the Djibouti side for its consistent valuable support on issues concerning China's core and vital interests. The Chinese side attaches importance to the relations between the two militaries, and is willing to make joint efforts with the Djibouti side to promote the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and the two militaries to a new high.
Hassan said that the Djibouti side attaches great importance to its friendly relations with China, and the Djibouti military is willing to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in defense field with the Chinese military, so as to continue to constantly push forward the military-to-military relations.
Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), was present at the meeting.
