SEOUL, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kawn-jin met here with Wang Guanzhong, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army on Thursday.
Kim reviewed the long history of the two countries' friendly exchanges and the rapid development of bilateral relations. He said South Korea attaches great importance to develop relations between the militaries of the two countries. To establish a military relationship compatible with their strategic cooperative partnership, South Korea is willing to explore more ways of cooperation with the Chinese side.
Wang said China and South Korea are friendly neighbors and China pays high attention to further developing the military relations between the two sides. He called on militaries of the two countries to sincerely treat each other, conduct more work to promote security and mutual trust and keep developing their relations in the healthy track.
He suggested Chinese and South Korean militaries keep exploring new areas and new methods of cooperation to promote the friendly cooperation to a new high.
Wang, invited by South Korea's Vice Defense Minister Baek Seung- joo, paid a five-day visit to Seoul and attended the third bilateral strategic talks between the two sides. Wang also met with other South Korean senior military leaders and visited some military units during his visit.
