More young women in Hong Kong join blind-date parties on the mainland
According to the Hong Kong-based newspaper Wen Wei Po, a growing number of women in Hong Kong are casting their eye to the mainland in search of a spouse. In 2012 the number of Hong Kong women marrying mainlanders hit a record-high of 6,700. According to matchmaking services in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, most Hong Kong women seeking love on the mainland are between 25 and 35. Many parents are starting to help them look for a mainland spouse.
More single young women from Hong Kong are choosing to participate in blind-dating parties on the mainland. These women say such blind dating parties are more fun than having afternoon tea or going to karaoke, which are common social activities in Hong Kong.
Obviously, single Hong Kong women don't just attend blind-date parties on the mainland for fun. They have a positive view of mainland men, considering them well-educated, hard working, responsible, easy going, and active - all characteristics that have been identified as key factors drawing more single Hong Kong women to seek a mainland Mr. Right.
Most of these single women are called "three-high ladies" - with a high degree, high position, and high income. They show great interest in “high quality” men from the mainland as they will have similar tastes, common topics to discuss, and are well-suited to each other.
