Advanced course on international assistance and protection kicks off

BEIJING, June 25 (ChinaMil) -- The 2nd Advanced Course on International Assistance and Protection, which was jointly organized by the Chinese government and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), kicked off on June 24, 2013 in Beijing.

This course is hosted by the Chemical Defense College of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and is going to provide a five-day-long concentrated training for 20 trainees from 19 countries worldwide.

The Course aims at further promoting the exchanges and experience-sharing in the field of the prohibition of chemical weapons among various countries, taking practical actions to maintain and strengthen international arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation mechanism, displaying China's achievements in fulfilling the agreement, and showing China's ability and level of protection against chemical weapons.
