BEIJING, June 7 (ChinaMil) -- Gen. Chang Wanquan, state councilor and minister of national defense of the People's Republic of China (PRC), met with Nguyen Chi Vinh, deputy defense minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam who came to China to attend the 7th defense and security consultation between the Chinese and Vietnamese defense ministries, on the morning of June 6, 2013 in Beijing.
Chang Wanquan expressed that China-Vietnam friendship was established and cultivated by the older generations of leaders of the two countries, and it should be cherished, maintained and developed in accordance with the requirements of establishing comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to make it better benefit the people of the two countries. The Chinese and Vietnamese militaries bear important responsibilities for maintaining the regional peace and stability as well as the friendship between the two countries. It is hoped that the two sides will make joint efforts to push forward the relations between the two countries and the two militaries.
Nguyen Chi Vinh said that the Vietnamese side always gives diplomatic priority to its relations with China, and is willing to further maintain regular communication between defense departments of the two countries, develop friendship and enhance mutual trust, so as to make contributions to promoting further development of Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
