BEIJING, June 6 (ChinaMil) -- The 7th China-Vietnam defense and security consultation between the Chinese and Vietnamese defense ministries was held here yesterday afternoon. The consultation was co-chaired by Lt. Gen. Qi Jianguo, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and Vietnam's Deputy Defense Minister Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh.
Qi Jianguo expressed that this defense and security consultation held by the two countries boasted great significance, especially against the background that great changes have taken place in both international and regional situations.
Qi Jianguo said that Vietnam is expected to go towards the direction of China, treat the relationship between the two countries from the strategic and overall points of view, work with the Chinese side to effectively manage and control disputes, properly resolve relevant issues and jointly safeguard the regional peace and stability.
Nguyen Chi Vinh expressed that Vietnamese side attaches great importance to the relations with China and is willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to strengthen the communication and dialogue, properly deal with differences, firmly safeguard the overall situation of the bilateral relations and push forward the military-to-military relations between the two countries to a new high.
