BEIJING, June 6 (ChinaMil) – Gen. Hou Shusen, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with Lt. Gen. Jean-Marc Duquesne, director of the Institute for Higher National Defense Studies (IHEDN) who came to China to participate in the 8th China-France Seminar on Defense and Security for Senior Military Officers, and his party on the afternoon of June 5, 2013 in Beijing.
Hou Shusen expressed that the contacts between the Chinese and French militaries at all levels and in all fields, such as high-level reciprocal visits, professional cooperation and mechanism-based exchanges, have shown a good momentum against the background of rapid development of the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership. The convening of the China-France Seminar on Defense and Security for Senior Military Officers is conducive to enhancing mutual understanding and trust and building consensus. The Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the French side to constantly push forward the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between the two militaries.
Duquesne expressed that the two militaries have further enhanced mutual understanding and reached many consensuses through the 8th China-France Seminar on Defense and Security for Senior Military Officers, which helps to promote the development of the cooperation between the two militaries.
