Chinese military plane crashes in drill

BEIJING, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A military plane crashed into the sea off east China's Shandong Province Thursday, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy said on Thursday.

The accident occurred at around 10 a.m. when a seaplane from the Beihai Fleet was conducting flight drill above the Jiaozhou Bay near Qingdao City, the naval authorities said.

Rescue is underway, according to the PLA navy.
