The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the first plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee successfully concluded amid the majestic revolutionary song "The Internationale."
What messages does the CPC want to send by playing “The Internationale?”
First, the CPC will not deviate from its ultimate goal of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and realizing communism.
Second, the CPC will continue to stick to the fundamental principle of serving the people wholeheartedly. Putting the people first and exercising governance for the people is the Party’s highest standard of governing activities.
Third, the CPC will continue to adhere to peaceful development. A renowned Western politician once warned, “The Cold War is over, but communism is not. It is still in China, so we must … in Asia.” Western powers should abandon the Cold War mentality, and avoid making rash moves. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has helped China integrate into the world economy, and can totally coexist with Western capitalism. Socialism and capitalism are not absolutely irreconcilable as they were during the Cold War.
