A short film of a soccer tournament played by retired footballers, from China's top professional league in the 1990s, was unveiled on Dec 20.

The tournament was organized by Peng Weiguo, who used to play with the former Guangzhou Apollo Club, and was held in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, between Nov 25 and Dec 1.

The Guangzhou club was defeated in a penalty shootout in the final by a former Shanghai club, which was led by former star player Fan Zhiyi.

"Most players in China's professional league in the 1990s have retired. But we still care about China's soccer development. We hope the tournament will inspire more young people to take up the sport," said Peng.

Peng was labeled "the King of Yuexiushan" for his excellent performance during his sporting career in the 1990s. Yuexiushan was the home stadium of his Guangzhou club.

"If you can't give up what you love, you should move forward to let people know that you are still involved," said Peng.

The film, titled Move Forward, is available on some major online video websites including Youku, Tudou, Ku6 and Iqiyi.
