LONDON, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Britain economy has escaped the threat of triple-dip recession as its economy increased 0.3 percent between January and March of this year, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said Thursday.
Britain's gross domestic product (GDP) went up 0.3 percent year on year for the first quarter of this year.
The figure indicates Britain has not fallen into a triple-dip recession, which has not happened in Britain since records began in the 1950s, experts said.
British economy contracted in the last quarter of 2012. A second quarter of contraction would push the country back in recession.
