SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Apple is planning to manufacture some of its Mac computers exclusively in the United States, according to Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook.
Cook made known the move of the tech giant company in an interview with the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) anchor Brian Williams. A preview of the interview is available on the website of NBC.
"We've been working for years on doing more and more in the United States. Next year, we'll do one of our existing Mac lines in the United States," Cook said.
The interview, which would be aired Thursday night on the television network's TV newsmagazine "Rock Center with Brian Williams," is said to be Cook's first since he took over at the helm of Apple from its late visionary CEO Steve Jobs, who resigned in August 2011 and died on Oct. 5, 2011.
Apple's latest move reflects the pressure on American companies in terms of creating jobs at home as the unemployment in the country has been hovering around 8 percent.
