The Guangzhou Auto Show in south China is open for business.

The Guangzhou Auto Show in south China is open for business. Major global and local car makers have gathered in the metropolis for the last time this year to show their commitment to the world's No.1 auto market.

Many of them have found their market shares in China have changed dramatically because of the fall of Japanese brands, due to the Diaoyu Islands disputes between China and Japan.

Data from the China Auto Industry Association shows that Japanese brands' car sales suffered a 60 percent annual slump to 100 thousand units in October from a year ago. That means their market share nosedived from 20 percent to only 7.6 percent in just two months.
