Sydney man arrested for threatening public official

SYDNEY, May 28 (Xinhua) -- A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with using a carriage service to threaten to cause harm to a Commonwealth public official here Tuesday.

The threats were allegedly made on May 2 of this year.

Bail was refused, and the man will appear in Burwood Local Court Tuesday.

Local media has reported that Australian soldiers have been warned to avoid the man after the brutal murder of a British soldier on the streets of London this month.
