Apartment building fire kills two in Ukraine

KIEV, May 27 (Xinhua) -- A fire engulfed an apartment building in Ukraine's eastern city of Dnepropetrovsk, killing at least two people, authorities said Monday.

The fire started at around 6:30 a.m. local time Sunday (0330 GMT) from the seventh floor and quickly spread to floors above, the State Service for Emergencies said.

Bodies of two victims, a 83-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man, were found on the seventh floor after the fire, while 15 people were rescued by firefighters, it said.

The blaze was under investigation.
