PARIS, May 10 (Xinhua) -- A third suspected case of coronavirus was reported on Friday after a man, 65, was confirmed to be infected by the SARS-like virus and hospitalized, regional health authorities said in northern France.
The patient is a nurse at the hospital in Douai where the first coronavirus patient was hospitalized in April, local media quoted Sandrine Segovia Kueny of the regional health agency of France's Nord Pas-de-Calais as saying.
The nurse was placed under watch at the hospital since Thursday. French news agency AFP reports said that a doctor and a former roommate of the first patient also remain hospitalized.
The first confirmed case of coronavirus had traveled to the United Arab Emirates in April before returning to France. He was transferred to a hospital in Douai on April 29, before taken to the University Hospital of Lille on Thursday where he is currently under intensive care.
His hospital roommate, doctor and nurse have been hospitalized for tests, results of which are expected Friday, according to the AFP.
