NEW DELHI, April 18 (Xinhua) -- India has airlifted a military hospital to Tajikistan where some 100 Indian military personnel are stationed, according to local media reports Thursday.
The hospital includes doctors, paramedics and equipment and is seen as being aimed at deepening strategic partnership with Tajikistan, reported local daily The Times of India.
Some 100 Indian military personnel are now based at the Ayni airbase in Tajikistan as a "military outpost" in the Central Asian region.
A C-130-J "Super Hercules" aircraft of the Indian Air Force airlifted the medical stores, equipment and 55 personnel over the last month to establish the India-Tajik Friendship Hospital in southern Tajikistan. The 50-bed hospital will treat both military men and civilians.
