The 12th "Chinese Bridge" fluency competition has drawn to a close in Germany, where fifteen college students have battled it out in Chinese. |
First Prize Winner said, "I can’t believe that I’ve won the prize. Thanks to the Confucius Institute for giving us this opportunity. I have been learning Chinese for three and a half years- two years at Leipzig University and three semesters at the Beijing Normal University."
She not only speaks Chinese fluently, she also amuses the audience using traditional Chinese clappers. Nick, another top prize winner, is a student at Ruhr University in Bochum, majoring in East Asian Economics. Although he’s only been learning Chinese for a year and a half, his spoken Chinese has reached a high standard.
