More than five hundred activities were held in over 40 cities throughout Germany.

In a pre-concert speech, Shi Mingde, the Chinese Ambassador to Germany, says globalization brings vitality, as well as disputes and problems. Both dialogues and clashes occur when cultures meet. So the event focuses on "dialogue and cooperation".

Shi said, German media is lopsided in reporting China. So those who have never been to China have a very narrow view of it. Through Chinese Culture Year, they witness the profound Chinese culture. They are overwhelmed by both ancient Chinese culture and modern arts.

The event has resulted in cooperation between dozens of art institutions from China with institutions, art festivals and companies from Germany.
